Mr. and Mrs. Howard came to me from a referral when I built the Navarro’s screened porch. Westville was a little far away from home, but it was a nice filler project in between houses. They had an existing deck which we reused the floor joists from and then added concrete footings in the corners to carry the weight of the roof that was added. We used Azek decking from Von Tobels in Valpo and matched the vinyl siding and gutters through Richard’s Building Supply in Michigan City. Lumber provided by Pioneer Lumber in Chesterton.
Mr. and Mrs. Bryan wanted to add an exercise room off their master bedroom and take advantage of their view of the golf course that their is home next to. Which meant plenty of windows, high vaulted ceilings, window unit for HVAC, well insulated, Andersen Windows, and a tough roof line to tie into. It turned out great and he tells me all the time its the best insulated room in the house.
The Navarros had an ideal location in the back of their home to add a screened and deck. With its West exposure the, Northwest Indiana
afternoon sun would over heat the kitchen. Now that the room is built, the added shade made the kitchen more enjoyable to be in and most importantly it gave them an outdoor room to have their morning coffee and in the evenings a place to have their meals.
